Doctor en filosofía por la Universidad de Stanford y licenciado en filosofía por la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Ha sido profesor adjunto en la Universidad de Oxford y en la Universidad de Bayreuth en Alemania, además de investigador postdoctoral en la Universidad de Viena. Su trabajo ha aparecido en publicaciones como Philosophical Studies, Erkenntnis, Thought, Problema, y el Oxford Handbook of Metaethics. Trabaja principalmente en temas de ética, metaética, y la filosofía de la mente y la acción.
